Amazon recently introduced a beta version of ‘Kindle for the web’, which allows you to read and share book samples or first chapters through your web browser.

Kindle for the web can be seamlessly integrated in your blog or your favorite social networks including Facebook and twitter. It’s even possible to email a sample of your favorite Kindle book to yourself, friends and family.

Amazon’s new member in the Kindle family raises the bar in web usability for online e-book readers. It’s interface is smooth, clear and easy to work with. It’s possible to personalize several settings, like background color, text size, line spacing, words per line, etc.

All this highly improves the reading experience for web surfers, who want to read book samples online before buying a new book. Kindle for the Web uses the latest web standards, which are supported by most modern browsers like Firefox 3.6, Safari 5 or Chrome 5.

It’s now even possible to read Kindle book samples on your Iphone, Android or Blackberry without downloading the free Kindle app.

Kindle for the web is still a ‘beta version’, which is a development status given to software programs or applications that contain most of the major features, but are not yet complete. So we can probably expect more features in Kindle for the Web when the final version is released.

Ofcourse we can’t conclude this post without showing you a preview of Kindle for the Web!

To start exploring Kindle for the Web, simply use the embedded plugin below. I used the bestselling book ‘The Roots of Obama’s Rage‘ as an example here.

To view this book in full screen mode, just click the ‘square’ icon in the top center of the Kindle plugin and start reading!

To buy the full Kindle edition of the book from the sample screen, click the “Get Kindle Edition” button. You may then choose to download the book to your Kindle or other Kindle reading application, like Iphone, Ipad, etc.
